  • What kind of supporting mechanism to use to hang a futon/couch from vaulted ceiling in Master Bedroom

I want to hang a wooden couch/futon from vaulted ceiling (not at the center). I think supporting a 1000lb is far more than I will ever need.

There is no attic above the ceiling. I want to make very minimal cuts in the ceiling panels/drywall. What kind of screws/bolts can I use? Is it a must to use eye-bolt? Can I do with Eye-screw? Is there a type of screw or bolt or some other thing (like a drywall anchor ...but for wood joists) that does not require me to access the upper part of the joist?

I have seen hanging sex chairs, but never futon / couch. Look it up on some of the Chinese sites you might find what your looking for.

Look up "hanging the trinity swing" it will give you an idea of a bolting system they use, but it's only rated at 400 pounds so you may have to beef it up...
