  • sopping clothes in washing machine

Sometimes the clothes in my Frigidaire Washing machine come out dripping wet. It seems to be getting worse, but, still not all the time. Any suggestions?

I'm not a pro, but could this be a belt driven washer?  If so, maybe the belt is worn and slipping?  Just a thought.

I used to fix  major appliances for GE years ago  (like washers).    Have you observed the washer going through its cycles?   I mean can you run the washer with the lid open.   There is an interlock which if it is mechanical you can press down,  but many of the newer ones are magnetic and you need to remove the top magnet assembly to get it in close proximity to the bottom sensor and get it to run.

As i mentioned you open the lid to see if the washer run through its cycles.  (Its safe to run the washer with the lid open as long as you don't put your arms down into the washer or touch live wiring)    You want to see the washer agitate after it fills and ultimately what you are really looking for is seeing if the machine spins out when it is draining water.   The reason clothes are sopped is the machine is NOT spinning out.    I am not familiar with the design of the Frigidaire but most GEs are transmission driven (no belt)  and if it will do one cycle (agitation but not spinning )  then its usually the transmission.   You don't say how old the machine is but in most cases  something the expense of a transmission or motor doesn't warrant it if the machine is like 10 years old.  Buy a new machine at that point.

If you do some searching on line you can usually find some service manuals for your model where you can learn how to take it apart.
