Two of my cupboard doors have screws holes that got too big for the screws and don't properly hold the doors. What's an easy fix?
These can be bought a most hardware stores too. Be sure to use glue for the inserts to add extra strength.
If the screw holes arent to large, try glueing a few toothpicks in the hole. This should give the screw something to bite into.
The best all around wooden plugs to use are wooden matchsticks. Cut off the heads (match part) with a utility knife, then jamb as many into the hole as fit tightly. Cut the plugs off flush with the cabinet surface, and drive the screws. Works every time.
For larger screw holes, force the hole full of matching wood filler with a pencil eraser. Allow the filler to dry for the stated time on the packaging. Drill a tiny pilot hole with a drill bit and power drill, and then insert the screw.
