Figure out your budget. Knowing how much money you have to spend on a bathroom vanity is a must before beginning any project. Models range from simple styles that are extremely affordable to those that are super luxurious with deluxe details.

Focus on function. Consider who will be spending the most time using this home essential. Whether the primary users will be a couple, kids or guests will help you narrow down options.

Determine the right size. Maximizing space requires proper measurement. Once you know the height, depth and width of an area, this will give you a better idea of whether a single bathroom vanity or double bathroom vanity will work.

Know the different styles. Antique, modern and marble bathroom vanities all look great in the right setting. If your home is outfitted with minimalist furniture, a traditional vanity might seem out of place. Remember that ‘like’ goes with ‘like’.

Pick a color and materials that complement your overall décor. Every accessory and piece of furniture is an extension of your home. When selecting a hue, make sure that it is a natural fit for your main motif.

Think about storage. How much stuff do you plan on placing inside your bathroom vanity? If the answer is, ”A lot,” go for depth to accommodate more of your things. If the answer is, “not much,” select shallower cabinets to free up floor space.

Go for long-term durability. Quality materials make all the difference in the longevity of your vanity. Make sure that yours stands the test of time with solid surfacing.

Consider plumbing requirements. When it comes to installing a vanity working with a professional plumber can help you avoid problems.

Don’t forget the mirror. Selecting the right mirror for your bathroom vanity can enhance the feel of the room. This accessory can be just the right accent to complete your look.

Research and find great deals. Now that you have a better idea of all the styles out there, it is important to work with an expert to help you pick the perfect product for a reasonable price.

Thanks Natinea for reading the tips and appreciating them. Hope they are helpful to you. Getting your bathroom right can get tricky as it is a simple place which needs to look good as well as clean and hygienic. Also selecting the best vanity is necessary as it is going to stay with you for a long time and should be aesthetically appealing, water proof and mould proof.

You are absolutely right when you say that every piece of furniture is an extension of your home, bathroom notwithstanding. Many people spend all their time and money on furniture for their living room and bedrooms but when it comes to their bathrooms, they neglect it totally. The bathroom is certainly important when it comes to interior design as you spend a lot of time in it. Remember also that a bathroom has the most amount of moisture in the house so do spend on good water proof materials in the bathroom. Whether you have a small bathroom with a shower stall and toilet or a huge bathroom with a nice hot tub in it doesn’t matter. What’s most important is how you use the space.

Thank You for the Great ideas Kim. Budget, size, style, storage and materials all contribute to a vanity that will match your style and meet your needs. A dark wood furniture feel vanity will give a bathroom a sophisticated look. A vanity made from laminate will be easy to clean, resist water and give a room a modern look.

Great tips and thanks for sharing! I am in the middle of a bathroom remodel in the master bedroom and of course I've only considered the obvious factors like budget, size and style, but thanks for pointing out the other features that I need to consider like the storage space, and mirror style. The vanity that I am leaning towards doesn't have the most efficient storage space and I would like a more stylish mirror other than a rectangle with a beveled frame. I appreciate the tips and this certainly changes my mind on the vanity I have chosen.
