Though some mental slip I got talked into putting in a "jacuuzzi" type tub when we redid our bathroom. Tub works fine, but has a detachable side panel  to reach some of the mechanical/electrical works. Unfortunately, while the detaching part works great, the reattach (and STAY attached) part doesn't work quite so well. 

The side of the tub is held on with velcro tabs, with one side glued to the tub and the other side glued to the side panel. The velcro seems to hold ok, but the glue holding the velcro to the tub does not. I have attempted to re-glue with liquid nails and a few other misc adhesives. 

Does anyone have a suggestion for keeping these types of detachable panels attached without screwing them in or some other more extreme option?  Thanks in advance!
