I am installing a ceramic tile backsplash with a 1/4" backerboard behind my kitchen sink and to the side of my stove. The problem is that I do not know what to use for the exposed edge on the wall beside the stove. With backerboard and tile there will be approximately 1/2" difference where the backsplash stops on the wall. If I were not using the backerboard I could probably use a bullnose tile, but I do not think a bullnose tile will cover the backerboard as well.
The countertop is tiled and has a 3/4" x 3" wood facing - should I use a wood trim piece around the exposed tile top and edges?
You do not need backer board when doing a back splash.
