1974 Craftsman radial arm saw

I recently found out that my radial arm saw from Craftsman may have a recall on it from way back then.. I've written all the info down from the unit but don't know who to contact. Can anyone hlp me out on this ??

Two things:

1)  Check out SEARS.  I don't mean just go to the store and then go into the tool department.  They'll look at you like you're NUTS, if you ask about a tool recall.  All they will know is selling stuff and hard/technical questions are way out of their league.  Go to the CRAFTSMAN website.  You might have to email their customer service department.  Go to a LOCAL Sears/CRAFTSMAN Parts/Service center and talk with somebody face to face.  If there is still a Parts/Service center in your area.  Sears is closing a lot of the centers, I know we lost a center here in the Louisville, KY area. 

2)  Go to the Old Woodworking Tools website: http://www.old-woodworking-tools.net/ and see if you can dig up any information.

Don't get too excited about the recall notice, it could be nothing more than a missing decal about how to turn on something.  Some so-called recalls can be down right silly.  Just give the tool a check/cleaning over every so often and if it ain't broke, don't fix it!  After all you been using it since 1974 and you still have all of your fingers?

I have a Craftsman Radial Arm saw and found the recall notice multiple years ago. The biggest thing on the recall is a Blade guard,  pull handle, and a new set of boards for  the table. I believe that the only part that was really cause for the recall was the blade guard. It allows the blade to be covered when the saw is not being used. Other than the safety of the user with the blade cover I really do not think you need to worry about the recall as I have used mine for a very long time and have had no problem with the saw itself.
