Do you ever suspect that the editors here at The Family Handyman magazine know exactly what needs to be done at your house? Just when you think, "I wonder how you go about fixing that," we arrive in your mailbox (or we could!), answer in hand.

Here's what our spies have told us needs to happen at your place this summer. Our June issue is on sale at newsstands today.

The Family Handyman June 2011 issue
Build a no-upkeep backyard table
Nope, it's not plastic. This beautiful faux slate patio table is made from construction grout tinted with dye. It looks so much like real stone that you'll fool all the people, all the time.

New kitchen in a weekend!
Four fast, inexpensive projects to add some wow to your kitchen. Meet homeowners Steve and Kama, who gave their kitchen a style kick with a granite-look countertop kit, wallpaper and stainless steel backsplashes and cabinet door inserts. All this for $600!

Add a faucet anywhere in your yard
What? It's not even June, and you're already tired of dragging garden hoses around your yard? This weekend, install a faucet right where you need it.

One-day retaining wall
The simplest, back-friendliest retaining wall in history. Oh, yeah, and the cheapest! Round up a pair of buddies (preferably one named Bob Cat) and take care of that slope in your yard.

Tips for busting rusty nuts
We swear, every auto repair involves at least one stuck bolt. Here's how to remove those stuck fasteners without even breaking a sweat.

Best in DIY: Cordless string trimmers
Yes, we've noticed that your yard is looking a bit overgrown.... If you're shopping for a new string trimmer, check out this tool review. We compare the features and performance of 10 battery-powered models.

Wait until you see what we have in mind for you in July!

When will the ipad app get this issue?

    • by posted on

How sad that the Family Handyman iPad app is now defunct and the new zinio app has so much less function.  No way to bookmark, save, or shar/send something....  I feel a bit like it was bait and switch -- tried the Family Handyman app and really liked it, so I subscribed, only to find it's much less...  Sigh...

What's the deal with the iPad app?  Apple indicates it's no longer available for download.
