What The Avengers Can Teach Us About Home Remodeling

Marvel's The Avengers had a record-setting opening weekend of $200.3 million dollars. A lot of us saw the movie, but if you didn't, don't worry, there are no spoilers here. This team of superheroes comes together to help fight for the survival of the human race - what could be better? Each of these superheroes has something they can teach us about not only life in general, but also home remodeling projects. Yes, you read that right - and I'll prove it to you!

Iron Man: It's all about the foundation - Tony Stark uses his genius capabilities to build cutting-edge, incredibly mighty products. He's a hugely powerful force, but without his suit of armor, he's just a normal guy - you know, just a genius, playboy, billionaire, and philanthropist. The same goes for your house. It doesn't matter what's on the inside if the foundation is falling apart.

We can learn another lesson from Tony Stark - use what you have. In the first Iron Man movie, Tony Stark is captured and wounded while in Afghanistan. He uses his higher level of intelligence to build a defensive suit that helps him escape and survive despite the shrapnel in his chest. When starting a remodeling project, you may not have the budget for your dream home. Work with what you have, make the best financial decisions, and you'll come out on top with a house you're proud and happy to live in.

Captain America: Everyone needs a fearless leader - Without someone to lead the project, and hold everything together, your remodeling project can get a little hairy. Also, Steve Rogers possessed the same core qualities he had before he transformed into Captain America - honesty, courage, and conviction. He stayed true to himself, and you should too. If you don't like the direction in which your remodeling project is going, stand up for yourself.

Thor: Know how to use a hammer - Thor, the God of Thunder, is probably the favorite Avenger of most women. Not because of his ability to command the elements and his hard-hitting fighting abilities, but because of his hunky looks. His ability to get past his arrogance helps, too.

Back to the point, learn how to properly use a hammer. The last thing you want while remodeling your home is to have a hurt finger. Plus, what girl doesn't love a guy who knows how to use power tools?

Hulk: Channel your inner anger - Dr. Banner is the nice, brilliant scientist who tries so hard not to turn into the "other guy." But, sometimes, anger can be a good thing. Channel your inner Hulk and funnel your anger towards the appropriate cause - like the demolition stages.

Black Widow: Know when to make the right move - This deadly, sexy spy always leaves your head turning (if you're still alive when she's done with you). She can get herself out of any situation, no matter how deadly, because she knows when to make the right move. Knowing when to make the right move is just as important as knowing which move to make. When thinking about a remodeling project, it's important to start when you know you have the funds to complete the project. Many home remodeling companies offer financing options, but be sure to stick to your budget.

Hawkeye: Stick to your specialty - Hawkeye is the nice guy who always hits his target, and I mean ALWAYS. He's no demigod or big green monster, but he has one incredible specialty - archery. Find your specialty and hone in on it. Whether you're exceptional at painting, wood work, or making plans with a contractor, stick to your specialty and leave the rest up to professionals.

Colonel Nick Fury: Know when to ask for help - Fury, the leader of SHIELD, an international intelligence agency, knew he couldn't fight this battle alone. That's why he called on the Avengers for help. During your home remodeling project, it's important to know when to ask for help. If you're limited in your handyman abilities, you should enlist the help of a professional home remodeling company. Big projects like these can go awry quickly if you don't know what you're doing.

Each of these superheroes has something unique to teach us. However, the big lesson to learn from the Avengers is teamwork. Whether you choose a DIY project or enlist the help of professionals, teamwork is critical.
